BANDA ACEH – The Rector of Jakarta International University, Prof. Paiman Raharjo, officially reported Roy Suryo, Rismon Sianipar, Beathor Suryadi, and Hermanto to the Metro Jaya Regional Police on Saturday morning, July 12, 2025.
In the report, Prof. Paiman was accompanied by renowned lawyer Farhat Abbas.
This report covers allegations of spreading false news, defamation, and indications of extortion, which according to Prof. Paiman have tarnished his personal reputation and that of the academic institution where he works.
“It is time for the truth to be upheld. All this time, I have been accused of being involved in the creation of the President's fake diploma. Jokowi at Pramuka Market without evidence. This not only tarnishes my name, but also damages the image of the education world in general,” said Prof. Paiman, Friday (7/11/2025).
He also highlighted the involvement of Beathor Suryadi, who is said to have met with him privately at a restaurant in Plaza Senayan.
During the meeting, according to Paiman, Beathor apologized.
“I'm surprised that after apologizing privately, Beathor has returned to spreading even more vicious accusations in public,” he said.
Furthermore, Prof. Paiman revealed that Beathor had previously requested Rp 20 million for certain activities.
However, he only gave Rp 15 million. “Perhaps because he was dissatisfied, the slander resurfaced,” he said.
Regarding whether the action constitutes extortion, Prof. Paiman leaves the matter entirely to his legal team.
“I can't say anything directly, but we have gathered all the evidence and handed it over to my lawyer,” he explained.
Farhat Abbas, as legal counsel, emphasized that this report was intended not only to defend Prof. Paiman, but also to send a message that smear campaigns and baseless accusations must be fought through legal channels.
“The spread of slander in the public sphere not only damages a person's reputation, but also endangers our democracy and education system,” said Farhat.
Prof. Paiman also urged the public not to easily believe unfounded rumors. He reminded them of the importance of verifying information so as not to fall prey to manipulation of public opinion.***
