BANDA ACEH – The tragic murder case involving Faradila Amalia Najwa (23), a student at Muhammadiyah University Malang (UMM) from Taman Village, Tiris Subdistrict, Probolinggo Regency, left deep sorrow and anger among the victims' families.
The victim was killed by her husband, AS, a member of the Probolinggo Police.
The victim's father, Ramelan, admitted that he never expected that the perpetrator who took his daughter's life was AS, his own son-in-law who was an active member of the Probolinggo Police.
Ramelan suspects that the motive behind this heinous act was the perpetrator's desire to take possession of the victim's property.
This heartbreaking incident came to light after Faradila's body was found lying in a ditch in the Wonorejo area of Pasuruan.
Ramelan said that his last communication with his daughter was on Monday. However, the next day, he received devastating news that broke his heart.
According to her family, the victim, who was currently in her third semester, had been picked up by the perpetrator at her boarding house. Faradila was later found dead with clear signs of strangulation on her neck.
“As a parent, I hope the perpetrator will be punished as severely as possible in accordance with his actions,” said Ramelan on Wednesday (12/17/2025).
Currently, the suspect has been detained at the East Java Regional Police Headquarters for further investigation. The police are still investigating the motive and full chronology of the murder case.
Ramelan and his extended family hope that the legal process will be transparent and that the perpetrator will receive the maximum punishment for his actions, which resulted in the forcible death of another person.
