JAKARTA — Reading prayers and wirids is the custom and morality of Muslims. Behind this, there are a number of reasons why Muslims need to read prayers and wirid in their daily activities.
Quranic scholar KH Ahsin Sakho explained that God commands people to always remember Himself. Under any circumstances, he said, people are required to remember Allah SWT. And the way to remember God can be done by praying and reading the daily wirid.
“God tells us to remember God more, to remember more. Because we are creatures of God’s creation. God wants our relationship with God to be created in a harmonious relationship, a good relationship,” KH Ahsin said in a live streaming study, at Ahsin Sakho Center on Tuesday (30/3).
This is as Allah says in the Quran Surah Al-Ahzab verse 41:
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا
Ya ayyuhalladzina amanuu-dzkuruullaha dzikran katsiran,.
“O you who believe, remember all of you with a great deal of remembrance.”
Since man is a creature of God’s creation, says KH Ahsin, God wants God’s relationship with His servant to be created in a harmonious relationship. For God created man in order to worship or worship God. In order to worship, he stressed, people are commanded by God to always remember their Lord under any circumstances.
“When we are born, we are adzani. Then so great, in a state of rich-poor, given office, we must always remember God. We are impregnated, we are just a servant,” KH Ahsin said.
Reading prayers in the daily life of Muslims is so emphasized. Even from waking up, doing activities, to going back to sleep, there are daily prayers that go with it. According to KH Ahsin, when daily prayers are constantly read and infused, a servant will always be overwhelmed with gratitude and tranquility.
